Return Policy

The Return Policy below applies to standard non-faulty returns only.

If there is a problem with an item you have received or if you believe a product has developed a fault, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team in the first instance and we'll decide on the best course of action from there.

Whatever the reason for the return, we are unable to arrange a collection or send a shipping label. However, if you are returning an item under warranty we will refund you for your return shipping costs.

Important: If you have bought a bike from us online, any warranty issues will be dealt with on an RTB (return to base) basis. This means you will need to get the bike to us for inspection should the need arise and will be liable for any transport costs. If you are unable or unwilling to do this and need to take it to a bike shop more local to yourself - you will be liable for any costs and/or repairs charged by that bike shop.

Return Policy

If you receive an order and find you have changed your mind or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 14 days from the date of purchase (subject to the product exclusions outlined below).

Unwanted items are returned at your own cost. If you need a different size - just order the correct size from our website and we'll refund you for the original item you purchased when it arrives back with us.

Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged in a sealed box, to ensure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns Team will review all items to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in this Returns Policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, we may be unable to process a full refund. We will contact you in such circumstances.

All refunds will be issued to the original payment method on the order within 14 days of receipt at our warehouse. Once the refund has been processed by us it can take 3-5 working days depending on your payment provider.

Product Exclusions

There are some exclusions to our Returns Policy, as detailed below:

  • Nutritional products or those with a best before date cannot be returned.
  • Personalised or customised items, such as wheel builds, cannot be returned.
  • GPS systems, such as sports watches or cycle computers, can only be returned if unregistered.
  • For hygiene reasons, any intimate garments, such as padded shorts, underwear and swimsuits, cannot be returned.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be returned.

Please note, 3 Peaks Cycles reserve the right to refuse a return if we believe the purpose was for stock trading/reselling and not personal use.

If you wish to return a bike that just isn't for you then it must reach us in a brand new re-saleable condition. If you have ridden it a few times (especially with ebikes as the mileage will go up) then we may not be able to offer a full refund. This will be assessed on a case by case basis. You are also responsible for the return shipping and any damage that may happen in transit.
We strongly suggest trying any bike first instead of just buying blind online.

This Return Policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Cicerone - Cycling London To Paris - Mike Wells

Season:Current

Brand:Cicerone Press

Code:CP0191

Guidebook to the London to Paris Bike Ride, including both the 500km traditional route, which makes use of cycle tracks and quiet roads plus a ferry crossing from Dover, and the 400km Avenue Verte, a waymarked route via Newhaven/Dieppe which makes greater use of dedicated cycle paths. Each takes 5-7 days and they can be combined for a round trip.

Seasons

Both routes can be cycled at any time of year, though April-October is the best period. Off-road sections of Stages 2 (Pilgrims' Way) and 8 (Coulée Verte) of the classic route are best done after a period of dry weather.

Centres

The classic route passes through London, Rochester, Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Calais, Desvres, Hesdin, Abbeville, Amiens, Beauvais, Chantilly and Paris. The Avenue Verte passes through London, Crawley, East Grinstead, Newhaven, Dieppe, Gournay-en-Bray, Gisors, Cergy and Paris.

Difficulty

Both routes are straightforward, with gently rolling hills and a few short ascents (the maximum altitude reached is only 204m). City street riding in London and Paris can be avoided by using trains to reach the edge of town. Much of the route follows dedicated off-road cycle tracks along old railway track-beds and canal/river towpaths. Where roads are used, these are mostly quiet country lanes or suburban streets. Mainly asphalt or compacted gravel surfaces in good condition, suitable for hybrid or touring cycles. Off-road options in Stages 2 and 8 of the classic route are suitable for mountain bikes at all times and hybrids or tourers in dry weather.

Must See

The two cities of London and Paris, with their many tourist sights, cultural offerings and gastronomic opportunities; the maritime centre of Greenwich; the North Downs with the Pilgrims' Way and White Cliffs of Dover; the Wealden landscape of Sussex and Kent (England) and the Bray (France); the medieval French towns of Calais, Hesdin, Montreuil, Abbeville and Gisors; the Somme and Oise valleys; the cathedral cities of Rochester, Amiens and Beauvais; the chateau of Chantilly; the limestone plateau of the Vexin
